Welcome to Bestead
Our purpose: Bestead our Collective
Bestead is engaging with farmers, chefs, and foragers to sustain our communities and protect our collective resources through mindful stewardship and coordinated technologies. In furtherance of our pursuit, we aim to harmonize our agricultural output with our requirements using Aeroponics, IoT, and Blockchain technologies for management of agricultural fulfillment, land usage, and agronomic resources. We see this as the best path towards sourcing and producing the best local ingredients, heirloom, and artisan foods in a regenerative manner.
Our mission is to create a network of neighborhood hubs where sustainable, regenerative, agricultural knowledge & technologies are harnessed, in counties where manufacturing industries have evaporated and Agritourism drives their economies. We can re-envision our communities by empowering homesteaders and their gardens to support local, sustainable, and collective actions utilizing aeroponic farming, enabling access to educational resources about food, economics, and regenerative practices.
Our belief is that encouraging the use of regenerative methods, sustainable technologies, and conscious design practices will improve the health of our communities, aid their socioeconomic ability to self-sustain, and regenerate our environment in a world that is quickly shifting in the face of climate change.
Phase 1:
Partner with local homesteaders, farms, chefs and foragers to create Besteads offering Community Shared Agricultural Services to the collective of members through the grid.
Phase 2:
Contract couriers trained in the culinary arts to facilitate deliveries for our produce, offer a meal kit option and on-location food preparation
Phase 3:
Convert former warehouses and factories into a network of manufacturing, distribution, and coordination of IoT-enabled residential/commercial land monitoring, aeroponic farm units, and resource management systems to achieve efficient land and space usage as a model of sustainable human stewardship; a collaborative of human engagement with nature, supported by ecotechnologies and regenerative methods of permaculture.
